Art about Atmosphere

My journey began when I encountered the work of Connecticut artist, Will McCarthy, at an annual art festival. His playful and imaginative use of color delighted and resonated with me. I began to study his paintings, practicing his techniques on miniature canvases where I could experiment freely.

Once I began, I was hooked. These landscape studies gave me permission to play with color and composition with only a loose reference. It challenged me to be loose and flexible and detach from my intrinsic perfectionism. Most importantly, they changed my creative process in a way that fit my new lifestyle as a mother.
